Yoga for Desk Workers: Back, Neck & Shoulder Relief

Hours at a desk leave their mark: tight hips, a stiff lower back, rounded shoulders, and a neck that aches by mid-afternoon. Yoga is one of the most effective ways to undo the strain of sitting — and to feel less hunched and more open.

Where sitting shows up in the body

Prolonged sitting shortens the hip flexors, weakens the deep core, and pulls the shoulders and neck forward. Over time that can mean nagging tension and reduced mobility. Targeted, mindful movement helps release the tight areas and gently rebuild support where you need it.

What we work on

  • Hip and lower-back release — long, supported holds to undo hours of sitting.
  • Chest and shoulder opening — to counter the forward “screen slump”.
  • Neck and breath — easing tension and the shallow breathing of a busy desk day.

Our Yin classes are especially good for deep release, while Hatha builds the strength and posture to sit more comfortably.
