Your Ritual Yoga is a small Hatha and Yin studio in Golders Green, NW11 — one stop from Hampstead on the Northern line. Classes are deliberately small, taught by one teacher, and every one ends with singing-bowl sound healing and a cup of herbal tea. Hatha runs 60 minutes, Yin runs 75. Drop-in is £17.
If you live or work around Hampstead, you already know how rare stillness can feel. NW3 is one of the greenest corners of London and somehow one of the least restful. This is a quiet place to practise, just over the hill.
Why come to Golders Green when Hampstead has studios of its own?
An honest answer: because of what happens in the room, and how few people are in it.
Hampstead is well served for yoga, and much of it is very good. What tends to be harder to find is the small, unhurried, single-teacher kind of class — the sort where nobody is counting reps, the lights stay low, and you are known by name rather than by booking reference.
Our classes stay small on purpose. That means you get real adjustments, a pace that suits the room rather than the timetable, and somewhere that feels safe from the moment you walk in. If you are returning after a long break, carrying an injury, or simply overstimulated by busy studios, that difference is the whole point.
Getting here from Hampstead
- Northern line — one stop. Hampstead to Golders Green is a single stop on the Edgware branch, around three minutes. It is genuinely quicker than most journeys within NW3.
- Bus 268 runs directly between Golders Green and Hampstead via Finchley Road.
- Bus 210 comes across from Hampstead Heath and Highgate to Golders Green.
- By car it is a short drive over the hill. There is street parking nearby — allow a few extra minutes at busy times.
We are also easy to reach from Hampstead Garden Suburb, Childs Hill, Temple Fortune and Brent Cross.
Two ways to practise
Hatha Yoga — 60 minutes. Traditional and alignment-led, with longer holds and steady breath. Movement that builds strength without rushing. All levels.
Yin Yoga — 75 minutes. Slow and passive, holding floor poses for three to five minutes at a time. It works on the fascia and connective tissue rather than the muscles, and it is the class most people come to when their mind will not switch off. All levels.
Not sure which? Most people who describe themselves as tense and overthinking start with Yin. Most people who want to move a little start with Hatha. You can try both.
The ritual that sets us apart
Every class closes the same way. During Shavasana, the final resting pose, Tanya plays Himalayan singing bowls — sustained tones you feel as much as hear, for the last five to eight minutes. It is included in every class, not sold as an extra.
Then there is tea. Warming herbal blends in the colder months, lemonade when it is hot, in a quiet communal space. Nobody is hurried out of the door. It is a deliberate way of stepping back into your evening rather than being tipped into it.

Your teacher
Every class is taught by Tanya — never a rotating timetable of strangers. She is a Yoga Alliance RYS 200 certified teacher, registration ID 252157, and completed 200 hours of intensive training at Devvrat Yoga School in Varkala, India, in December 2025. The training covered Ashtanga Vinyasa and Hatha asana alongside anatomy, yoga philosophy, pranayama and meditation.
What that means in a class: the sequencing has a reason behind it, the breathwork is taught rather than mentioned, and someone is watching how you are doing. More about Tanya.

Questions people ask before their first class
How long does it take to get to Your Ritual Yoga from Hampstead?
Around three minutes on the Northern line. Hampstead to Golders Green is one stop on the Edgware branch. Allow ten to fifteen minutes door to door depending on where in NW3 you start. The 268 bus runs directly between Hampstead and Golders Green via Finchley Road, and the 210 comes across from Hampstead Heath.
Do I need to be flexible to start yoga?
No. Flexibility is something yoga builds, not something it asks for in advance. Most people who come for a first class cannot touch their toes. Every posture has a modification and props are provided.
What should I bring to a yoga class?
Comfortable clothes you can move and rest in, and a water bottle. Mats and props are provided at the studio. Bare feet are usual. Nothing else is needed.
Is the singing-bowl sound healing an extra cost?
No. Singing-bowl sound healing happens during Shavasana in every class, and the post-class herbal tea is included too. Neither is an add-on or a separate booking.
Are the classes suitable for complete beginners?
Yes. All classes are all-levels and beginners are common. Small class sizes make it easier to start than a full room does. Mention it when you book and Tanya will look after you.
