Gentle Yoga

If the word “yoga” brings to mind pretzel shapes and sweaty studios, this is the opposite. Gentle yoga is slow, kind and unhurried — no pressure to push, perform, or already be flexible. Just a calm space to move softly and breathe.

How gentle yoga helps

Moving slowly, with long holds and plenty of support, lets a tense body release without strain and shifts the nervous system into “rest and digest”. You don’t need strength, flexibility or any experience to begin — gentle yoga meets you exactly where you are. Many people find it the easiest, most sustainable way to build a practice that lasts, precisely because nothing about it feels like a workout to dread.

What we focus on

  • Yin yoga — deeply restful, passive holds; the gentlest way to release held tension.
  • Hatha yoga — slow, traditional movement at an easy pace, with time to settle into each pose.
  • Singing-bowl sound healing and a warm herbal-tea ritual to close — softness woven through the whole class. More on the ritual experience →

A practice you can take home

You’ll leave with simple, low-effort ways to soften and slow down — a breath, a gentle stretch, a moment of stillness — for the days that feel like too much.

Our classes are small and unhurried, in a calm studio in Golders Green, NW11, and every class is suitable for complete beginners. If you’re brand new, our yoga for beginners page is a lovely place to start.
